The Commission on Impact Innovation met on July 21, 2022 to decide the winning startup proposal for the sector.

The commission chose among ten finalists pre-selected by UniCredit Start Lab team. The Commission was composed of senior executives from leading Italian companies such as:

  • Lara Botta, Vice President, Botta EcoPackaging
  • Federico Garcea, Founder & CEO, Treedom
  • Marco Nannini, CEO, Impact Hub Milano
  • Enea Roveda, CEO, Lifegate
  • Giovanni Sandri, Country Manager, BlackRock Italy

The winning startup of the first prize for the Impact Innovation sector is Algor Education - based in Turin - a web application that helps students of all ages to learn online easily and smartly with mind maps, with a focus on those with dyslexia or other SLDs. Thanks to their collaborative editor, everyone can create multimedia mind maps manually from ready-made templates or automatically from documents or keywords using Artificial Intelligence algorithms.

The winning startup will receive a 10.000 € grant.

The Commission awarded the second prize to Levante - from Milan. The green tech startup produces a smart, modular, portable solar panel inspired by origami. In this way it's possible to have clean energy anywhere and charge while traveling.

The third prize went to Aquaseek - based in Turin - a Polytechnic of Turin spin-off and "Princeton University startup" that aims to provide regular, reliable and sustainable access to water to everyone, everywhere on earth. To do this, its researchers have developed and patented a revolutionary technology capable of generating distilled water from atmospheric vapour in unique conditions of aridity and energy efficiency..

Finally, a special mention went to Mygrants, from Catania, the first app based on adaptive microlearning specifically designed to provide migrants, through 10.000 thematic quiz modules in 4 languages: up-to date relevant information on rights, duties and functioning of the asylum system, personalized digital training program, access to credit and career placement (job placement | entrepreneurship).
