The Commission on Digital met on June 27, 2023 to decide the winning startup proposal for the sector.
The commission chose among nine finalists pre-selected by UniCredit Start Lab team. The Commission was composed of senior executives from leading Italian companies such as:
- Nunzio Abbate, General Manager, System LAB at STMicroelectronics
- Evita Barra, Media, Entertainment and Luxury Industry Director, Meta
- Francesca Chieti, Head of M&A and Corporate Development, Jakala
- Roberto Loro, Director Technology & Innovation, Dedagroup
- Enrico Mercadante, Director Architectures Sales & Innovation Southern Europe, Cisco Systems
The winning startup of the first prize for the Digital sector is Arcan - based in Lecco - a SaaS platform that saves software development costs. The platform leverages artificial intelligence to identify source code inefficiencies and estimate the time, cost and benefits of removing them.
The winning startup will receive a 10.000 € grant.
The Commission awarded the second prize to Entando - from Cagliari. It is a open source Application Composition Platform to build cloud-native, composable applications on Kubernetes. It's open-source and it simplifies composable application development, deployment and support. It offers a set of technologies that enable teams to build, deploy, run and manage applications developed by composing together components and business capabilities.
The third prize went to Movenzia - based in Turin - a Digital Tech Company for long-term cars rentals. It offers customers, both private and business, a digital and smart experience: thanks to exclusive collaborations with LTR providers and the use of a property CRM it manages the business flow effectively, allowing customers to easily find the perfect car at the best price on the market.
Finally, a special mention went to Jobtech, based in Milan. It is the first Italian staffing agency completely digital that is changing the world of work, by providing a smart, simple and transparent service thanks to a specialization on precise core profiles, its own technology and a team experienced in shaping talent.
