Life Sciences Commission 2025
The Life Science Commission, the first of the five planned by UniCredit Start Lab, was held on May 20, 2025.
These are the Board Experts who evaluated the 10 Finalist Startups behind closed doors:
• Laura Antonioli, Head of Medical Affairs, UCB
• Maurizio Colombo, Vice President Sapio
• Marco Ferrari, CEO, Anemociti
• Victor Savevski, Chief Innovation Officer, Director of the AI Center - Istituto Clinico Humanitas
• Paolo Rizzardi, Co-founder, President and CEO, Altheia Science
The startup that won the first prize is ROSEBIO, a company that develops highly specific, sensitive, and user-friendly molecular oncology tests. With its ZipArray platform, it makes genomic testing much more timely, accessible, and useful for informed and equitable use of precision medicine in routine healthcare The startup wins a €10,000 funding
Second place went to HEALTH TRIAGE, which develops AI-based solutions to support clinical decision-making in oncology. Health Triage is currently developing two main technologies: an AI-based triage system for breast cancer screening and a virtual biopsy tool for prostate cancer diagnosis. Both solutions are designed to easily integrate into existing clinical flows, improve outcomes and reduce unnecessary procedures.
Third place went to SENSE4MED, which develops innovative electrochemical biosensors for strategic applications in the clinical, environmental, defense and agri-food sectors. The pilot project, tested and fully functional, is a miniaturized and eco-sustainable biosensor, printed on paper, for the detection of chloride ions, currently considered the gold standard in the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, but detected today only through laboratory methods. The proposed technology enables a non-invasive, scalable and low-cost alternative
Finally, a special mention for CLEAN OS, born with a clear objective: Prevent 80% of oral diseases thanks to the use of innovative proprietary technologies. The flagship product, the Smartbrush, is the first electric toothbrush in the world personalized for your mouth, and guarantees medical-grade hygiene in less than 30 seconds per arch.
The other startups that took part in the Commission and that enter the UniCredit Start Lab platform are (in alphabetical order):
