The Commission on Digital 2020 - The Winners
The Commission on Innovative Made in Italy met on July 22, 2020 to decide the winning startup proposal for the sector.
The commission chose among ten finalists pre-selected by UniCredit Start Lab team. The Commission was composed of senior executives from leading Italian companies:
- Roberto Loro - Director Technology & Innovation, Dedagroup
- Enrico Mercadante - Head of Innovation Architecture and Digital Transformation, Cisco
- Valerio Momoni - Chief Strategy Officer & Corporate Development, Cerved and Dario Vuolo - Head of Strategy, Cerved
- Roberto Privitera - Head of Marketing and Business Development, Acantho (Gruppo Hera)
- Laura Rocchitelli - Chairman, Gruppo Rold and Paolo Barbatelli - Chief Sales & Innovation Officer, Gruppo Rold
- Elisabetta Romano - Chief Innovation Partnership Officer, TIM
- Paola Scarpa - Client Solutions, Data & Insights, Google
The winning startup of the first prize for the Innovative Made in Italy sector is Rulex - based in Genua and Boston - which offers a digital decision management platform that combines AI, heuristic rules and explainability. The software automatically produces AI-optimized business rules that are easy to understand and can be used to automate decisioning.
The Commission awarded the second prize to Zerynth - from Pisa - which provides system integrators and product companies with hardware, software and cloud tools for the development of IoT systems and smart devices in an autonomous, efficient, fast and scalable way.
The third prize went to neoEYED - from Caltanissetta (Sicily) - which has developed a «behavioral AI» which, if integrated into the web / mobile app, can recognize the user by analyzing his / her behavior. The technology aims to prevent fraud and identity theft.
Finally, a special mention went to Novis - based in Turin - which has developed BlindConsole, the first game console usable by visually impaired and blind people. It is composed of a joystick which, once connected to the mobile phone, allows you to play without the support of a video interface through 3D audio and vibrations.
