The Commission on Life Science
The Commission on Life Science will meet on May 25, 2021, to select the winning proposal from among ten finalists.
The startups selected to participate in UniCredit Start Lab 2021 will be offered several opportunities, including:
- participation in meetings with UniCredit Corporate clients in order to evaluate potential commercial/industrial/technological partnerships, both in ad hoc sectoral initiatives and in one-to-one meetings;
- opportunity to get in touch with possible investors, including international ones, in dedicated initiatives;
- access to the Startup Academy and other initiatives as part of the coaching and managerial training program organized by the UniCredit Start Lab team;
- guidance from professional Mentors, consultants and entrepreneurs, who will help them develop their businesses by offering skills and providing access to networks;
- the assignment of a dedicated UniCredit manager.
The winner will also receive a cash prize of €10,000.
The ten finalists are as follows:
1000 Farmacie
1000Farmacie is a digital healthcare platform that combines the best Italian pharmacies, with their respective warehouses, to allow users to choose from a wide range of products at the best price and receive them directly at home via the delivery service. The startup is characterized by a zero inventory model and by the ability to manage medical prescriptions through a last-mile delivery model.
Angiodroid
Angiodroid has developed the first and only automatic CO2 injector validated for use in peripheral angiography procedures. Automatic CO2 angiography (ACDA) is a safer, cheaper, more effective and less risky alternative than the use of contrast media containing iodine, a nephrotoxic agent.
Ariadne (by Complexdata)
Complexdata developed Ariadne, a digital platform for predicting the risk of breast cancer aggressiveness to help oncologists tailor therapeutic strategies and pharmaceutical companies guide new drug development. The prognostic software is based on innovative algorithms and, through the analysis of biopsy samples, is able to assess the risk that a patient diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer will metastasize, allowing for more effective therapies and a reduction in overtreatment.
DaVinci Salute
DaVinci salute is the Health Tech platform connecting patients to their National Healthcare System family doctor and private mental coach. A "digital first" gateway to health, integrated with the NHS and including the citizen's digital twin.
Endostart
Endorail System is an innovative medical device for digestive endoscopy that uses magnetic fields and ferrofluid to facilitate the completion of difficult colonoscopies and make them faster and less traumatic.
Enjoystitch
Enjoystitch develops, produces and sells worldwide, portable simulators for laparoscopic training in abdominal, chest, head & neck surgeries, with an integrated exercises system as well as an automated visual recognition feedback. They are indeed accessible and can be wi-fi connected to any screen, also offering free access to a specific e-training h24 platform. Can be eventually extended also to further surgeries.
Giomi Home
Giomi Home, has created a new widespread hospital, by developing a system of integrated telemedical and home health care services with the aim of creating a digital health eco system. Throught the use of IoT platform and devices, the patient has access to his personal sanitary cloud in every moment and can be monitored by the staff 24/24. Gdoctors App facilitates remote advice by specialized doctors as well as the services related to the health concierge.
NIB Biotech
NIB Test is the first rapid urine test for the screening of prostate cancer, capable of contemporary identifying the presence and aggressiveness of a possible case of cancer, helping doctor determine whether a prostate biopsy is necessary.
PerFormS
PerFormS has developed the first alternative drug to cortisone for the long-term treatment of psoriasis, enhancing the anti-inflammatory activity of an endogenous molecule with no side effects.
Q-Walk (by QuicklyPro)
QuicklyPro has developed Q-Walk, a simple and affordable wearable device for home rehabilitation and gait maintenance in people suffering from neuro-degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's.
