The current approach to medical imaging evaluation is in most of the cases qualitative, based solely on the visual inspection of the images themselves. This approach can lead to up to 30% of incorrect assessments.
The core mission of Dorian Technologies is the development of quantitative analysis methods to be applied on nuclear and radiological brain imaging (magnetic resonance, CT, PET, etc ...), for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and dementias: its goal is to support the diagnostic process by exploiting at most the information contained in each imaging exam. The quantitative analysis of the imaging techniques reduces the diagnostic error, improves the accuracy in disease monitoring and helps the planning of the patient's therapeutic treatment: for these reasons the guidelines recommend it as a support to the diagnosis and for some imaging techniques quantification is becoming mandatory. Since the typical clinical environment does not have qualified personnel to perform these analyzes or the necessary hardware, Dorian Technologies has developed the DOlab platform, through which each clinician can request the analysis on cloud resources of medical images with patented, published and clinically validated methods.
The results of the DOlab analyses can be viewed together with the respective images: in this way any computer can become an advanced imaging laboratory, providing the clinician with innovative support capable of reducing evaluation time and diagnostic error.
