Business Idea

Composite Research has been created with the aim of innovating the composite materials industry through a continuous and constant research and development of unique and innovative materials, able to adapt to current industrial production processes, and allowing their redevelopment in terms of economic efficiency and environmental sustainability. The first patent of 2015 is MadFlex, a technology that embodies a family of composites with a "sandwich" structure with unique and disruptive characteristics compared to traditional composite panels.  It is in fact a metamaterial with the distinctive feature of being rigid when loaded on one side, while being flexible or even rollable when folded on the other. This technology has been refined through the development of several products and applications that can be used in different sectors such as automotive, aerospace, aviation, healthcare, architectural and robotics. The first application to reach the market was Patch MadFlex, a repair kit that allows to repair the leaks of gas pipes quickly and permanently, regardless of their size and the material they are made of, rolling around the damaged section of pipe a protective shell. The universality and speed of application allow the use of the kit even in emergency situations, avoiding the need for a second intervention. Thanks to some experiments conducted with Italgas Reti, the technology is now usable for repairs with a fixed duration (now considered to be 20 years) in the gas sector.Further studies on the material have confirmed its adaptability to the repair of pipes for the water sector and in particular for drinking water. In fact, negotiations are underway with A2A to continue the field-testing phase and obtain the necessary certifications to market the product, replicating the steps done with the collaboration with Italgas Reti for the gas sector. Specifically for the drinking water sector, it is the company's intention to succeed in creating the need for specific legislation, currently absent both nationally and internationally, that makes it mandatory to repair the water pipes allowing the recovery of that drinking water today irremediably dispersed with damage for all.
