The energy market is experiencing great tension due to the global geopolitical situation and the challenges of global warming. In this context, the interest in hydrogent is very high as it represents an energy vector that can be generated by electrolysers using renewable energy.
H2E offers innovative patented solutions to reduce costs and consumption for energy deriving from hydrogen. The electrolysis systems allow the electrolytic splitting of water molecules into its constituents, hydrogen and oxygen, obtained by providing electricity below form of direct current. H2E produces AWL alkaline electrolysis systems, PEM protons, AEM anionics which, with the help of catalysts and special membranes facilitate the separation of oxygen and hydrogen from the water in its molecules. The component where the reaction takes place is called stack and allows to obtain hydrogen at 30 bar.
H2E offers the entire range of products with a focus on PEM and AEM with large power stacks (> 1MW), with the ambition to offeraltogether 30-50 MW in 2023 and over 100 MW in 2024. The stack technologies produced by H2E concern:
• AWL system: works with aqueous solutions of KOH (potassium hydroxide) at 30%;
• PEM system: uses ultra pure demi water;
• AEM system: simplified and competitive system resulting from the combination of AWL and PEM systems.
H2E built the first 1 MW PEM plant produced in Italy which was exhibited in May at the Hannover Messe, the world's leading trade fair for the industrial sector of the future.The target customers are in industry with hard-to-abate emissions, heavy transport, logistics of ports, airports, the steel industry, the food industry, and in the future also private transport. The company has set up a specialized R&D laboratory where new technologies, new materials, membranes and catalysts are developed with a team of researchers with at least 20 years of experience.
